Youths and the economy
Youths And the Economy
In any given economy the youth play an important role of productivity.
One of the counties mostly affected by crime is Mombasa and Nairobi. Meaning there’s productivity but in the wrong area. There’s energy but in the wrong place. In Mombasa the crime rate is mainly because of drugs, in Nairobi its mainly because of unemployment.

If a county is largely affected by crime, there will be less business activities in the place, investors will repel in investing. This will affect the county and the nation.
Young people are vibrant, full of energy and ideas. Young people are investors, a good example is the youth from Kenya who invented m-pesa. A revolution in mobile banking. Safaricom is making billions out of that guy’s invention.
The role of young people in the revival of the economy
• Creation | young people are able to create job opportunities which will enable the country to grow. If the government created an enabling environment, young people can come up with business projects like hotels. A hotel will open doors for other people.

• Invention| Young adults have the brain capacity to think of ideas/ big ideas like inventions. In 2020 when the world was hit by the pandemic, medicine students from Kenyatta University created a diagnostic machine that would enable doctors to run test on corona patients. This invention was timely and was well appreciated by the ministry of health.
